We cannot begin to thank you enough for your continued generosity to the Heart & Soul Building Campaign. It is because of your generosity that we reached our goal of $2 million in pledges to be paid over the next 24 months for the down payment of the building. However, it’s not too late to give or pledge to the campaign. We are continuously raising funds to meet our ultimate goal of being debt-free.

FAQs

As a church, we have the opportunity to purchase the building where we currently meet and call our main broadcast campus in Glen Burnie, MD. This building purchase includes the 75,000 square feet we now occupy, plus the additional 36,000 square feet of space leased by Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Heart & Soul Building Campaign is a giving campaign dedicated to raising $2 million in pledges to purchase the building.

We presently lease the building from Merritt Properties, with our leasing going through April 2027. However, the COVID Pandemic showed us there is no permanency in rented spaces as our Catonsville, Centreville, and Pasadena Campuses were closed by the organizations that owned the buildings. That said, we need to own our main broadcast campus to have a base of operations to fulfill our mission to reach the lost and make disciples.

The 6691 Initiative in 2017 raised funds necessary for us to build out the empty warehouse and turn it into the facility you see today, including the Sanctuary, Chapel, Studio, Elements Hall, and LH Kids area. Over the last four years, we have invested over $3.8M in building improvements and equipment at our main broadcast campus. The Heart & Soul Building Campaign raises funds necessary to purchase the building we call the main broadcast campus in Glen Burnie, MD.

This building is the main broadcast campus and central location for Lighthouse Church. From this campus, we broadcast LH Online services, film LH Kids Online, and house all the necessary equipment to serve all of our communities, both locally and globally. This campus also serves as a central hub for our staff to work out of and for all our ministries to call home. Without this campus, LH Online and all the ministries that comprise LH would not be possible.

The total purchase price of the building is approximately $12 million, with the funding coming from existing cash, the Heart & Soul Building Campaign, and bank debt.

The Elders have established a goal to secure $2 million in pledges by May 30, 2021, given over the next 24 months.

If you call Lighthouse Church home, we’re asking you to say “I’m in Heart & Soul” and financially contribute to the Heart & Soul Building Campaign. We can’t do what we do without your bold and faithful generosity. No matter the size of your contribution, every little bit helps. We are fully trusting God will provide everything we need!

We’re asking you to make your pledge by May 30, 2021. The purchase of the building will take place in June 2021 and we want to show that we have secured $2 million in pledges prior to the purchase of the building.

All checks can be mailed to our Glen Burnie location at 6691 Baymeadow Drive Suite 200, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Please ensure that the memo for all checks specifies “Heart & Soul Building Campaign.”

The pledge you make by May 30 is the amount you’re committing to give to the Heart & Soul Building Campaign over the next 24 months. Your giving of the amount you pledged can take place at any time over the next 24 months, by May 2023.

We are asking that your contribution to the building campaign is above and beyond your current giving.

Absolutely! LH is not a church built on the gifts of a few but on the sacrifices of many. This applies not only to serving at LH but to finances as well. As a church, we are able to reach the lost and make disciples all over the world as the result of the many people who give what they can, large and small.

Yes! We understand that life is unpredictable. If you need to adjust your pledge, you may do so at any time by emailing giving@lighthouse.church.

No. Your pledges and contributions will be completely confidential and will not be made public.

Our Giving Team is happy to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to reach out at giving@lighthouse.church.

Janine A. - LH Online Testimony:

“I moved to Maryland from Puerto Rico to teach Spanish in the public system in August 2020. I dared to do it alone, without family, without knowing anyone here, without mastering the language but trusting that God is with me at every step. Until today I can say that everything has been a miracle. Now I understand that it was not my plan. It has always been His plan. The first thing I did when I moved here was look for information about churches near me. The word “lighthouse” did not leave my mind as I investigated. I found LH ONLINE, and I started watching the sermons. Every time I listened to the pastors, I cried. I did not understand it at first. I thought I was very sentimental. But now I understand that God is shaping me. Three months later, I wrote to Evan Connelly and decided to get baptized.  It was the most special moment of my life! God transforms lives. You must believe, trust, and have a humble heart before Him.”

Jessica G. - LH Kids Online Testimony
“I just wanted to send a big thank you because my 3 daughters, Sophia (11), Valentina (9), and Hannah (7), have been connecting every Sunday morning to your kid’s services since the beginning of the quarantine back in March/April. It’s so great what God has done through you guys that I don’t have to remind them anymore; they wake up and turn the TV on to watch you guys and learn more about God’s Word. You guys are an example of love for our God, fellowship, and joy. Not every day has been easy this year, but LH certainly has edified and brought joy to our daughters week after week. If we visit your city, we will definitely stop by to say hello! Thank you for shining a light for us in this stormy 2020, I’m sure you guys didn’t imagine you were making an impact all the way to South Florida, so I wanted to let you know you have certainly made a difference in our daughters’ lives. Have a blessed end of the year, and thank your Pastors for us, for raising leaders that have become and will continue to become a lighthouse in places that may seem hopeless but are never out of Jesus’ sight.”
Maggie S. - Small Group Testimony

“Where do I start?! Two years ago, I hit rock bottom spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. I was a senior in high school and was doing all the right things, was playing varsity sports, went to a Christian school, sang in the worship band, and knew Jesus and loved Him, but I was in a deep pit I could not see a way out of. I was crippled with an eating disorder and exercise “addiction” that monopolized my thoughts, stole my joy and energy, hindered my relationship with Jesus, couldn’t hear from God, all while not feeling like I had a Godly community of friends and people around me to help me, talk to, get me back on track or seek God with. I knew I need God to breakthrough, and I knew I had a problem, but I couldn’t break my chains, and I couldn’t climb myself out of the pit I had found myself in. Due to my restrictive eating, I suffered major health problems that stole my energy and robbed my comfort and joy even more than the eating disorder and compulsive exercising did. Senior year was the busiest but darkest and hard year of my life. After graduation, the thoughts and fears did not stop. I still struggled, and I still knew that God did not want me to idolize my body and wrap my worth around what people thought of me or my appearance, but I was so afraid and locked up. I went to Anne Arundel Community College that fall and could not find a community I was longing for. I needed Godly believers around my age who wanted God and freedom from strongholds as much as I did, but I honestly could not find anyone. As an extroverted person who loves to go and be around people, I found myself shut away and pushing myself away from any hope of community. I was lonely, burdened, and broken. It was two years of feeling like I had no one in my corner, two years of eating disorder, two years of working out like my life depended on it, two years of digestive issues beyond my understanding, and two years of waiting on God crying out for him to rid me and break me free of this stronghold and give me a community of people I could grow with, do life with and love Jesus with. I was waiting to be accepted and loved as I was; I was waiting for joy in the midst of sorrow, waiting for the light, not knowing Jesus was right there the whole time growing me and producing in me the fruit I had no idea He was growing. While I was waiting for Him to act, Jesus was waiting for the right moment to exceed my expectations, and He did just that! It was not until fall 2020 where he broke my eating disorder and gave me victory over the exercise addiction. God was working in me and my circumstances, and little by little, I started to realize Jesus had set me free and had reinvigorated me with life and freedom! In January, I felt God calling me to sign up for a small group and get connected in the church. I chose Lighthouse because I had been listening to the sermons online during quarantine, and I knew Jesus was doing something BIG at this church, and I needed and wanted to be a part of it. In January, I got plugged into Katie Warner’s small group, and I can honestly say I have never experienced such a break though and such answers to prayers in all my life. It felt like God was working no matter where I looked, and He was answering my prayers. I felt loved and accepted the second I walked into that room and have never had such wonderful blessings to call my friends before. God has really come through in bringing me a Godly community of women that love the Lord and seek after Him while also loving each other and serving so well. God has not stopped there, though; He is still revealing to me areas in my life that I need to surrender so he can break the stronghold that holds me captive, like my propensity to let the world’s perception of me define me. He has revealed that the gifts and good things He has given me, like my talents, relationships, and people in my life, do not determine my worth or if I am lovable. Jesus does, my Creator, and my Savior does. So I continue to cling to Him and feel God’s call to spread that good news of what God has done for me in sending His son to die for me, taking my sin debt upon himself, and since then, running after me, changing me and loving me so well with his everlasting love!”

Martha & Bruce C. - LH Online Testimony

“We want to thank you for your continual faithful teaching of God’s Word. We are constantly blessed. When we began attending several years ago, one of the things that struck us was the number of single adults, particularly men, attending. Being parents of sons, we were often concerned about the poor job the “church” seems to do in reaching single adults. Lighthouse appeared to be doing something right.

This aspect of Lighthouse has meant a great deal to us as one of our sons who live in Colorado regularly listens online. When we ask what he thought of the message, his response is always how great the message was and that it hit home. As parents, knowing our son is being ministered to fills us with much gratitude. He has been through some difficult and painful situations, and we are greatly encouraged.

With the year of COVID and not being able to be in church, we are grateful for the online ministry for ourselves and our son. Being in different states, it’s nice to be “in church” with him.”

Jessica C. - LH Kids Testimony

“I want to give a shout-out to LH Kids. I’m sure you guys hear enough grief about not having LH Kids for more services or selling out tickets too quickly, but I want to tell you of the difference you make in my baby’s life. Some time ago, I brought my 3-year-old to church on Langley Road, and he was terrified. The first person to greet him, not me or my husband but my 3-year-old, was Mr. Victor Smith. He walked right up to him with his fist out to “pound it.” My Noah looked at him and clung to me. Mr. Victor looked at him and said, “we’re gonna be friends.” Each week he would find us to say hi to Noah, and as time went on, Noah was more comfortable with him and would give him a fist pump. Five years later, he still remembers Noah and looks for him to say hello, and Noah has never forgotten him. My boy is eight years old. He loves Jesus and loves going to church. I set my alarm each Sunday to make sure to get tickets for LH Kids before they are sold out. He also loves Legos; he tells me Legos are his love language. He came home from church and insisted on building something special for Easter. He built the cross and the tomb, complete with a rolling stone.  He explained the entire story to me and told me how important everything was. We have taught him about Jesus since birth, and he has attended Kids church his whole life. My boy loves Jesus. Thank you for contributing to the life and soul of my baby; you are doing important things!”
